Saint John is the largest city in the Maritime province of New Brunswick with 70,063 inhabitants. The conurbation of Saint John has 127,761 inhabitants. The name Saint John is never abbreviated to not be confused with St. John’s on Newfoundland.
Saint John is located in the south of the province on the Bay of Fundy and is divided by the Saint John River in half. To the west and north of the city are numerous freshwater lakes.
The city is an important industrial location of the Maritime Provinces of Canada.
