Iqaluit (formerly Frobisher Bay) is the capital of the Nunavut Territory. The city has 6700 inhabitants.
Iqaluit in Inuktitut means “place with a lot of fish”.
From Iqaluit, you can reach the Qaummaarviit Historical Park, the Sylvia Grinnell Territorial Park and the Katannilik Territorial Park. A visit to the Soper Heritage River Park due to the diverse flora and fauna is appropriate.
